How and Where to Access Start-up Funding

Brief:

Andy Maloney, Vice President, Pimco and a veteran consultant to financial advisors, will lead a panel discussion offering an economic and financial perspective with respect to the environment, challenges and opportunities for investors and investing. The discussion will include how and where to access start-up funding.

Panel Members:

Bob Hojnacki, First Vice President, Director of Business Development, The Bank of Fairfield.
Bob has nearly thirty years of business experience in the banking and entertainment industries, with many of those opportunities being start-up ventures.

Bob began his career at Citibank in 1982 in their Management Development Program.  Since then, he has worked at six different banking organizations including Chase, NatWest, Fleet, HSBC and now The Bank of Fairfield.  His financial experience includes Retail Banking, Cash Management, Private Banking and Commercial Banking.

In 1996, Bob left banking and began a new career in cable television, where he remained for nearly seven years.  He was General Manager of a new event division of the Food Network called Cooking Across America.  Following a five year stint at the Food Network, he and a group of investors explored opportunities for creating a new cable television network called CaribTel, dedicated to providing new programming to the cruise line industry and "wealthy pocket" communities of fifty-nine island countries in the Caribbean. 

He returned to banking in 2004 , working at HSBC in the Wall Street area market before becoming the first employee of The Bank of Fairfield in 2007.  The Bank of Fairfield is the town's only ³home town bank².  Currently, there are two branches; the first on Black Rock Turnpike and the headquarters on the Post Road.  Bob is in charge of the bank's Business Development activities which in part has lead to the bank becoming the fastest growing community bank in Connecticut history.

Bob graduated from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY with a degree in Business Management and received his MBA from St. John's University in Finance and Management  He and his wife Lynne have lived in Fairfield for over twenty years. He is very active in community organizations and sits on the Junior Achievement Community Board, Bridgeport Regional Business Council Leadership Program Board, the Cardinal Sheehan Center Fund Raising Committee and most recently, Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary Board.

Kyle F. Hublitz,  Wealth Advisor, Vice President - Investments, UBS Financial Services, Westport CT.
Kyle has been in the investment industry for 20 years, originally in the banking and mutual fund sectors and then as a Financial Planning Specialist with Smith Barney since 1993. Kyle and his team joined UBS Financial Services in Westport, CT in early 2009, recently earning the designation of Wealth Advisor, serving clients with financial planning, investing, asset allocation, and strategic planning concepts. Kyle and his team manage client assets of almost $400 million dollars.
He is originally from the Boston area, graduated from Hamilton College with a B.A. in Economics, and lives in Fairfield with his wife and two sons. He is active in the local community through involvement with the Make-A-Wish of CT organization and serves on the Pequot Library Board of Contemporaries in Southport, and enjoys boating, golfing, and skiing as family activities.

Andy Maloney has spent the last 14 years as a consultant to financial advisors in the Metro NY area.  As a consultant for PIMCO, he articulates research ideas and macro economic themes to their clients and assists financial advisors with portfolio construction.  PIMCO manages over 1.35 trillion including assets for over 50 of the Fortune 100.  PIMCO is widely considered the authority on bonds and risk management.  Founded in 1971 by Bill Gross, PIMCO has been named by Morningstar as Fixed Income Manager of the Decade.  They are headquartered in Newport Beach, CA and employ roughly 1800 people worldwide including 517 Investment professionals.  Andy and his family live in Fairfield County, CT.
