Licensing to Corporations - Do's and Don'ts

Brief:

This is a "Peek under the corporate tent" designed to help independent inventors and entrepreneurs understand the corporate licensing process and corporate psyche through a series of nine pragmatic steps. These include insights to the internal corporate process, who to contact and how, imperative presentation content, potential landmines, questions to anticipate, how to increase valuation, expectations, etc. 

Biography:

Bob Oros' marketing career spans over forty years within multiple consumer products categories. His expertise resides within new product & new business development, innovation and licensing. He identified and commercialized several successful entries in the past, a number of which spawned entirely new categories within their respective industries. His corporate marketing career includes experience in over-the-counter products, foods and beverages, pet foods, packaging and confections with such companies as Vick Chemical, Ralston Purina, the Pillsbury Company, American Can and Life Savers.

In 1980 he organized and managed the new products group within Marketing Corporation of America, a consulting company based in Westport, CT., assisting corporations to identify and qualify strategic growth initiatives and development programs.

In 1983 he founded Business Development Resources, a marketing consultancy leveraging his experience, expertiseand innovator network. BDR¹s client roster includes corporate clients as well as inventors and entrepreneurs. Domino's Pizza "Heat Wave" delivery bag and P♥M Wonderful Pomegranate Juice are two projects in which the company played a major "front-end" role. DiaperBuds™, a line of vacuum-packed baby diapers, is the company's latest inventor related introduction. Bob earned his B.S. degree in marketing from Rutgers University and his MBA from Michigan State University. He has served on the board of the Connecticut Venture Group and currently serves on the Board of Inventors Association of Connecticut and participates in annual Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship competitions as a judge. He resides in Greenwich, CT with his wife. BDR is located in Wilton, CT.
