Practical Aspects of Design, Engineering, and Production

ABSTRACT

Designing for market appeal while minimizing product cost; Prototyping; Sourcing engineering, design, components, processing and manufacturing; Offshoring. Erick received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MS from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Through his experience at Ford Motor Company, IDEO, and the MIT Center for Innovation in Product Development, he has been involved in the design and engineering of a wide range of products.

About The Speaker

ERICK RIOS, COO, Big Bang (offices in Atlanta and New Haven). Design and engineering consultant helping companies develop products that people love. Over the years Erick has assembled a diverse team that includes design research, ergonomics, interaction design, electro-mechanical design and engineering; we have solved hundreds of complex and simple product development challenges. Specialties: medical product design, consumer product design, innovation, consumer research, design for manufacturing, interface design.

Erick has served as Director of Engineering for Big Bang for over 11 years.
