First Class Prototype Resources

Jim Marquis received a BSEE from the University of Bridgeport and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. He is currently President of KimchuK, Inc. in Danbury, CT which designs and produces products on a contract manufacturing basis. This includes prototype design and development activities across a range of diverse product categories. Mr. Marquis has over 35 patents, was awarded the Cecil J. Previdi Entrepreneur of the Year Award and is on the Advisory committee of the Engineering program of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Florida.

The presentation will include a brief description of the KimchuK organization and facilities in its Danbury headquarters together with descriptions of three case histories concerning products that the Company has manufactured for clients. These will exemplify three different levels of complexity, from very complex, medium complexity and a simple design. The presentation will demonstrate the breadth and challenge of how to identify and qualify solutions for different levels of problems by describing how the Kimchuk team approaches such challenges including “do’s and don’ts” as well as how to avoid ‘landmines’ along the way.

James Marquis is President of Kimchuk, Danbury, CT.
