Invention and Entrepreneurship

Mark Noonan, a successful entrepreneur and resident of New Canaan, will offer insights to the topic of licensing versus building a brand and business using actual case histories to illustrate the challenges of building a business from concept inception to the global marketplace. The Wovel, a wheeled snow shovel sold globally under its current brand Snow Wolf, was the Companys first success followed by the Leaf Loader, a yard clean-up tool that gained market entry into Walmart in its first season. Tips will be integrated throughout the presentation for those committed to product development and marketing .

Mark Noonan Founder and CEO Nootools, LLC. is a successful entrepreneur and resident of New Canaan, CT. who has built Nootools over the past ten years through a series of new products focused on problem-solutions for the home and hardware categories and some sports and medical device products. The company designs, develops, manufactures and distributes/sells its products in over 10 countries. It focuses on patentable hi-tech designs of low-tech products with low product obsolescence risk. It can bring products to production stage very efficiently focusing on packaging, merchandising, cost, customer service and other constraints. The Company test launches production versions to test market for lower cost than many focus group stage developments.

Mark holds a BA degree in Economics from Duke University and an MBA degree in Marketing and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Mr. Noonan currently has, through the Company and other companies he controls, over two dozen patents awarded or in progress in product areas ranging from hardware, home, pet products, electronics, infant products and defense-related technologies.
