What to Do With Your Patent or Patent Application Once Filed

Abstract:

This presentation will cover post-filing considerations and the business uses of patents and patent applications. The presenter will discuss the sale, licensing and manufacture of your patented product. These topics include marketing your patent and the pitfalls and obstacles associated with marketing. The value and costs of obtaining foreign patent protections and the judicious use of non-disclosure agreements will also be discussed.

Biography:

Richard Michaud is a founding member and managing partner of the Michaud-Kinney Group, an international IP law firm headquartered in Middletown Connecticut. He has extensive experience in all aspects of IP law, including foreign and domestic patent preparation, prosecution and litigation. He is also experienced at trademark and copyright preparation, prosecution and litigation as well as in negotiating and drafting intellectual property licenses. He is a popular lecturer on intellectual property topics. Rick is especially well-versed at counseling business executives and in-house counsel at both large and small corporations.
